The app gives you English sentences to read aloud, scores your pronunciation sound by sound, and offers coaching from a character called Nunzio. The scoring detects which sounds you substituted for which. It does not — and is not built to — identify or judge anyone's nationality, native language or origin.
You can use the app for free for a limited run of practice sessions — currently ten completed sessions. After that, continuing to practise requires a subscription. The sound library and the progress screens remain free.
Subscriptions are offered on a weekly or an annual term. They are sold and billed by Apple's App Store or by Google Play, in your own currency, at the price the store shows you at the moment of purchase. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each term until you cancel it.
Cancellation and refunds are handled entirely through your Apple or Google account, under that store's rules. We cannot cancel your subscription or issue a refund on your behalf. To stop a subscription from renewing, cancel it in your store account settings before the current term ends.
Nunzio is an educational tool. It is not a speech-therapy service, not a medical or diagnostic service, and not a substitute for a qualified teacher or clinician. We do not promise any particular result, score, or improvement. Automatic pronunciation scoring is imperfect and can be wrong; treat its feedback as practice material, not as an assessment.
You may use the app for your own personal learning. Please do not:
The app, its content, Nunzio's writing and voice, the sentence packs and the artwork belong to Nunzio or to its licensors. Your subscription gives you the right to use the app, not ownership of any of it.
The app is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we exclude warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.
We may change the app, its free allowance and these terms. When the terms change, we update this page and the date at the top; if you keep using the app after that, the new terms apply. We may stop distributing the app or discontinue features, and we may end your access if you seriously break these terms.

These terms are governed by the law of Slovenia, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes fall to the courts of Slovenia. If you are a consumer in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence.
